This page describes the cookies and tracking technologies used on this website, in compliance with the Italian Data Protection Authority's ruling of 10 June 2021 and ePrivacy guidelines. The data controller is VIAR servizi turistici srl (see the privacy policy for details).
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user's browser, where they are stored and sent back to the site on later visits. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels) can perform the same functions.
2. Types used on this site
2.1 Technical cookies (always active)
Necessary for the proper operation of the site. They do not require consent under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.
- NEXT_LOCALE (first party): stores the preferred language; lifetime up to 1 year.
- Framework session cookies (Next.js / Vercel) for the technical handling of the request; session lifetime.
2.2 Anonymous analytics (no consent required)
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which only collect aggregated, anonymised data on visits, performance and traffic source. They do not use persistent cookies, do not profile users and do not track identity. Under the Italian DPA ruling, analytics that meet these conditions are treated as technical cookies and do not require consent.
- Vercel policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
2.3 Third-party content (Google Maps)
The Location and Contact pages embed a Google Maps iframe. When the iframe loads, Google may receive the IP address, visited page and other technical data according to its own policy. The iframe is loaded lazily to reduce the impact.
The homepage also displays public reviews from our Google Business Profile. Review content is fetched server-side from the Google Places API using a restricted key (no personal data of the visitor is transmitted to Google in this operation): only the author name and review text reach the visitor's browser — no profile photos, no tracking pixels.

2.4 Third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
Subject to your consent (the Analytics category of the cookie banner), we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin) and Google LLC, to analyse in aggregate how visitors use the site (page views, traffic sources, interaction events). It sets first-party cookies (e.g. _ga and _ga_ID) lasting up to 13 months and may involve transfers of data to the United States. Unlike the anonymous statistics under point 2.2, these cookies require your explicit consent: they are not installed unless you grant it and you can withdraw it at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer. IP addresses are collected in anonymised form.
- Google privacy notice: policies.google.com/privacy
3. How to manage cookies
You can disable or delete technical cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling them may break some features (e.g. language persistence).
4. Your rights and contacts
Your rights regarding personal data, including the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, are described in the privacy policy. For requests please write to info@pompeihosteldeluxe.com.
5. Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect regulatory or technical changes. The current version is always available on this page.
